Movers & Shakers: Former Principal Barry to Become Olathe Superintendent
The former school leader in Abilene and Lindsborg, Kan., will become the next superintendent of the 27,000-student Olathe School District July 1.
Marlin Berry, the district’s assistant superintendent for general administration, was selected Thursday by the school board to succeed the current superintendent, Pat All, when she retires next year.
Berry came to the Olathe district from Abilene in 2007, where he became superintendent in 2000. He served as the superintendent of the Smoky Valley Public School in Lindsborg from 1991 to 2000.
“The Board of Education believes that Dr. Berry’s collaborative style of leadership will greatly benefit the district as we continue to be challenged by reductions in funding while fulfilling our mission of preparing students for their future,” said Rita Ashley, school board president.
